Did you know that Medicare offers many health tests, screenings, and immunizations designed to help prevent illness and keep you healthy? As a person with Medicare, you have these benefits available to you—and many of them are free.
Some of these benefits include:
- The “Welcome to Medicare” exam (within the first six months that you have Medicare)
- A flu shot once every flu season
- One pneumonia shot in a lifetime
- Cholesterol screenings
- Colorectal cancer screenings
- Diabetes screenings
- For women with Medicare, a mammogram every 365 days
